ELEONORA KOUNENI
Eleonora Kouneni is a London-based jazz vocalist and songwriter known for her contemporary and emotive jazz vocal style and unique original compositions. She launched her musical career in Athens, opening for legendary greek vocalists Maria Farantouri and Savina Yannatou at the 16th Greek Anti-Racism Festival, before relocating to London and establishing herself in the city’s jazz scene.
Since relocating to London she has been establishing herself in the London jazz scene, performing at various London venues, including PizzaExpress Live, Vortex Jazz Club, Jazz Café POSK and the Green Note. She has also performed her compositions in the USA, including at Pangea in New York City, as well as a sold-out set at Monks Jazz Club in Austin, alongside renowned musicians from the US jazz scene, which was also livestreamed internationally.
Her independently released debut EP “If You Just…”, introduced her songwriting to international audiences, with its lead single reaching over 3 million streams across 170 countries and drawing over 50K monthly listeners. This global reach helped pave the way for several successful shows in London and internationally.
Her new jazz EP “This Eager Heart” was released in March 20 under the G² Records & Publishing label and launched live at PizzaExpress Live (The Pheasantry) to a sold-out crowd.
Her first recorded take on the Great American Songbook, “This Eager Heart” forms a four‑chapter emotional narrative of memory, love and surrender, told through standards born nearly a century ago. Curated for the way they trace the quiet shifts of longing, these songs have travelled through oceans, eras and iconic voices, still carrying the same emotional truths. Eleonora steps into that lineage of interpreters to show that the emotional architecture of love hasn’t changed — only the rooms we sing it in.
Eleonora is currently recording her next EP, scheduled for release in late October, with a live EP launch scheduled for November 20th at PizzaExpress Live (The Pheasantry). She will also be performing an intimate set at the Durham Jazz Festival on October 24th, accompanied by renowned pianist Paul Edis.
