ENRIQUE THOMPSON

&

REVIRADO PROJECT

Enrique Thompson is an Argentine-Italian saxophonist, composer, and producer based in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands. Born and trained in Buenos Aires, he has spent over two decades building a career across Latin America and Europe, working at the intersection of jazz, tango, and contemporary improvisation.

He leads the Revirado Project, a tango-jazz ensemble with an extensive touring history across Europe, Latin America, and the UK, and a catalogue of over 20 albums released through Artruism Records, his Vienna-based independent label. His 2024 album Song for Someone / Canción Para Alguien received a four-star review in All About Jazz and an endorsement from

jazz pianist and NEA Jazz Master Arturo O'Farrill.

As cultural director, Thompson has founded and leads two recurring international festivals in Fuerteventura: EcoJazz (now in its 5th edition, September 2026) and La Ruta del Jazz (4th edition, October 2026), which have brought together artists from across Europe and Latin America and established Fuerteventura as an emerging hub for jazz in the Atlantic region. Both festivals are supported by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, the Gobierno de Canarias, and ICDC.

His international profile includes a French Senate Medal of Honor (2021, awarded following a benefit concert in support of Lebanon), appearances at WOMEX (Tampere, 2025) and Jazzahead (Bremen, 2026, via Sounds from Spain/ICEX), a performance at the Canarias Showroom at Auditorio de Tenerife, and radio broadcasts on RSI Swiss Radio, La Radio Canaria, and Aeropuerto Jazz Café. He is also listed in the Music Austria database and has been nominated for the Austrian Jazz Prize (Jazzpreis Austria). A live album recorded for RSI Swiss Radio is currently in post-production.

Thompson performs approximately 100 concerts per year across Europe, including Spain, Germany, Austria, the UK, Switzerland, Bosnia, and Croatia. Recent highlights include International Jazz Day concerts in Berlin (April 2026), a residency at Jazz Café CajaCanarias in Tenerife (May 2026), and a recording session in Buenos Aires (April 2026) that produced the Inner Journey EP.
