BATTISTA LENA
Battista Lena is one of the leading Italian jazz guitarists and a well-known composer (lately for a huge Italian TV series for RAI1). He composed the soundtrack of around 25 films, 4 of which were awarded at the Italian Academy as "David di Donatello Award for Best Film”, furthermore he received nominations for the Italian Golden Globe, Silver Ribbon (Italy) & the Goya Award (Spain).
In the 90s he began a long collaboration with the trumpet legend Enrico Rava, the recording "Rava L'Opera Va" was awarded as Best Album by the specialized magazine Musica Jazz. The German WDR Big Band recorded a tribute to his music with live concerts and broadcasting.
Recent years have been particularly intense with the release of some important works on Italian TV programs such as "Il Colibrì" (The Hummingsbird, presented at Toronto
International Film Festival), "La Storia", a series based on the novel by Elsa Morante for the most popular Italian TV station RAI1 which set audience records in Italy and was sold in many European countries and “Un Altro Ferragosto” by Paolo Virzì.
