NIKOLAY KASAKOV
Nikolay Kasakov is a distinguished saxophonist whose artistry seamlessly integrates classical rigor with jazz virtuosity. He has performed alongside eminent international artists, including Scott Hamilton and Harry Allen.
His exceptional talent was recognized early with multiple “Young Talents of Siberia” awards. Kasakov graduated with honors on a Russian university, majoring in saxophone, and continued his studies at Hochschule Köln/Germany, achieving a perfect grade of 1.0 on his final examination. Notable performances include a solo feature with a Smooth Jazz program and orchestra at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf and engagements with leading American jazz musicians.
Since 2010, Kasakov has co-directed the Yardbird Club in Düsseldorf, curating concerts that present outstanding musicians across genres. Following the passing of his initial partner, he continues to oversee the program with a close colleague, including collaborations with artists such as Rain Sultanov from Azerbaijan. His performance history also encompasses projects with the acclaimed organist Dirk Schaadt and a long-term artistic partnership with jazz vocalist Maya Fadeeva, with whom he is preparing a joint album presenting his preferred jazz repertoire.
